2023 in Kenya

Ark Quest Education Centre - Great Results

Once again we are pleased to report that Ark Quest Education Centre Year 8 students have excelled in the Kenyan Certificate of Education (KCPE) exams. This exam determines their eligibility to enrol in secondary school studies. The school's results place them as the 3rd best school in their sub-county and in the top 10 for the entire county. They were also commended as the most-improved school in the county.

Kenyan Ministry of Education Visit

The school received an unexpected visit from officials representing the Kenyan Ministry of Education who pronounced that they had been chosen to provide Middle School education (Year 9). This was a complete surprise as Ark Quest School had not applied or intended for this to happen. While this is a privilege, it also comes with responsibility. Please pray for the provision of staffing and resources for this new initiative.

New Curriculum

Teachers have recently been trained to implement the new competency-based curriculum. Students are now learning skills in agriculture, horticulture and cooking as well as academic subjects.

Building Update

The upper storey of the new classroom block is well on its way to completion. While the roof is now on, the next step in this process is financing windows, doors, tiling and electricity. There is also a need for classroom furniture. Due to financial constraints, the momentum has slowed. More finances are needed to allow for these expenses. Please consider whether you are able to support this in any way.

Thanks from Calvine

In every communication from Calvine, he expresses his tremendous gratitude to all of you who financially contribute in any way. In Calvine's words:

"Thank you so much for working so hard to enable us to achieve our quest to transform the community through quality education and economic empowerment. Please continue to pray and support us whenever you can."
